Honor 4X smartphone: It’s the right affordable 4G contender

Honor 4X smartphone: It’s the right affordable 4G contender

The Indian market has major influence on products from design and functionality point of view. While most brands agree to the fact that Indian consumer is no different from their global counterparts but who are we kidding. India, for all its modernization remains price conscious consumer hub, always on the prowl for attractive deals on anything that's considered to be worth their time and money.
Honor will have its work cut out in making sure that Honor 4X, their first 4G-enabled affordable product manages to stand alongside the likes of Xiaomi and Yu among others. Here's what we think about the 4X which costs just a bit more than Rs 10,000 in the country.

Will appeal to buyers
Honor began its Indian journey on a positive note with Holly and Honor 6 and now Honor 4X is pretty much continuing the same pattern albeit at different price point. Competing with a Xiaomi device, in terms of price and hardware is no easy task but that's exactly what Honor wants to achieve with the 4X and in some ways, achieve they do. It may be early days but for its price Honor 4X could prove to be another winner for the brand.

Up to the mark features
It's hard to impress buyers these days on the features front but Honor is looking to pull out the impossible with this smartphone. Everything available on the 4X points to required trends for a phone these days which are big display, decent power under hood, memory gets married with storage, competent cameras and durable battery life. It's on par with the competition and better in some aspects as well.

Honor has its Emotion, the interface
Xiaomi has MiUi, Yureka relies on Cyanogen to give the phone a face and Huawei has its own interface, which is dubbed called Emotion UI. There is nothing emotional about the interface and it merely adds to the slickness and usability. While MiUi constantly gets talked up for being clumsy and heavy-loaded, while Emotion UI comes across as a refreshing change from the monotony of repetition.

Shooting with right intentions
Yureka has decent cameras, Redmi Note 4G's camera are good too. But the difference in sensor enabled Honor 4X to pack an even better snappers and that has managed to please us. The result is, we get detailed images in daylight and not-so-bad clicks during the night. For us this offers enough impetus to bend in the favor of Honor 4X.

Stay tuned review coming up soon.
