Huawei (or Honor) may have found the formula to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Motorola but their work has just started. Bringing out quality products on consistent basis is a hard act to follow and Honor has to face the music yet again after its first induction into the market. Honor Holly and Honor 6 represents a decent beginning but with Honor 4X and 6 Plus things need to kick start and achieve something better this year around. In the meanwhile, take a look at Honor 4X which will be seen challenging the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Yu Yureka among others.

The phone sports a 5.5-inch phablet-like display with HD resolution and running on Android 4.4 KitKat over Emotion UI 3.0. With Corning Glass protection, chances are you might scrape through with the 4X in any possible condition. Unlike Honor 6 Plus, the company has opted to go for physical (backlit) buttons for the 4X.

The back panel has a smooth yet sturdy matte finishing which makes it easy to grip and hold. The Honor branding is visible at the center and the camera is placed on top left side. 4X is available in White and Black colour options.

Honor 4X comes fitted with a 13MP back camera with LED flash which can shoot 1080p videos and a front camera of 5MP power.

Honor 4X isn't as sleek and elegant as the Honor 6 Plus and that makes up for the price difference between the two. Having said that, we can't really question the design language and dynamics employed by the brand to construct this affordable device. As you can see, power button and volume rocker have been positioned on the right side.

The grill-like shaped holes represent the speaker aspect of Honor 4X and the microUSB slot placed at the bottom for charging and data tranfer purpose.

As we've mentioned earlier, Honor 4X manages to pack physical buttons, something that is also available on Yu Yureka but Xiaomi has opted for non-backlit buttons for the Note 4G. The display tends to be on the brighter side when fiddling with the brightness levels.

Emotion Ui 3.0 is different from other Android custom interfaces like MiUi, CyanogenMod and Color OS etc. The icons are slick and easy to identify.

The phone packs 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU with 2GB RAM and offers microSD storage expansion of the available 8GB space. The 3000mAh battery is non-removable but that shouldn't be much of an issue.
