Samsung confirms you can banish Galaxy S6 bloatware

Samsung confirms you can banish Galaxy S6 bloatware
Ever since the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge announcement there has been some confusion on the state of the apps installed on each device and whether any will be removable from the new devices.
A Samsung spokesperson has now confirmed to TechRadar that pre-installed Samsung applications will be able to be removed from both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
The spokesperson told us, "Samsung Electronics is committed to providing the best possible mobile experience to customers.
"As part of this effort, Samsung has allowed users to remove the pre-installed applications on Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
"The number of applications that can be removed from devices can vary by regions and mobile carriers."
Although Samsung refers to it as a removal of the app, we've been playing with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and discovered apps can instead be disabled meaning each wont be clogging up your app drawer, but can be reinstated (via the settings menu) if needed.

Bloatware beware

Samsung apps S Voice, S Health, Smart Remote, Memo and the Calculator can all be disabled by hitting 'Edit' in the app list and tapping the red minus sign in the top right hand corner.
All of Google's apps pre-installed on the devices; including Google Maps, Google Chrome and YouTube, can also be disabled but not uninstalled.
Strangely you can also disable the Google Play Store app as well but it isn't really clear why you'd want to do that and delete the main way of getting new apps on your device.
Microsoft apps OneDrive, OneNote and Skype as well as Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Facebook's Messenger app are also included on the Galaxy S6 and Glaxy S6 Edge, and all can be hidden from view.
