HTC Has Added Desire 820S; The True Octa-Core Smartphone For Rs 24,890
These days it doesn't take long for a product launched in any country of the world to make its way to India. Most brands recognize India as a key market for their products. Both China and India market have similar characteristics with different demographics of consumers but the mobile trends get refined or tweaked over here before reaching out to other countries.
We just had Xiaomi launch its Redmi 2 and MiPad in India and now HTC too has introduced another variant for the Desire 820, now with an 'S' suffixed to the model name. So what does the S actually offer that original Desire 820 can't? Well, the only logical way to explain that is, while Desire 820 is powered by Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU (but with set of two quad-cores) the Desire 820S gets Mediatek's true octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz on board.
Besides that you really can't differentiate between the Desires in question. At 5.5 inch it's more of a phablet than smartphone with HD resolution quality with 2GB RAM in tow. Desire 820s is also fitted with a 13 MP rear snapper with supposed low-light capability and an 8 MP front shooter.
Priced at Rs 24,890 Desire 820S still feels overly priced in the market, especially if you consider the prospect of having a newly refined octa-core chipset from Mediatek. Yu Yureka is still a better option for its price, much lower than both; Desire 820 and now 820S.
