Xiaomi Brings Mi Pad 7.9 To India For Rs. 12,999
While all the focus was on Xiaomi's Redmi 2 announcement, the company also announced the Mi Pad tablet with a budget price tag and exceptional hardware on offer. This is the same device which was likened to the Apple iPad Mini at the time of launch last year and rightly so, given the display resolution, size and some of the images used in its press materials.
The tablet has been priced at Rs. 12,999 here in India and will be available to all without requiring prior registration from the 24th of March. Xiaomi is known for its exclusive flash sales which limits the reach of its devices to a select number of individuals, so this is a refreshing change of pace from the company.

Xiaomi has mentioned that the Mi Pad will be available in white color option initially, but there's no word on whether the company will bring other colors to the Indian market anytime soon. We must note that this variant here is WiFi only and has no support for 3G networks.
So what can we expect from the Mi Pad in terms of hardware? Read on for more:
For the price, the Mi Pad is an excellent device and will offer a great experience to large screen lovers. It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi will approach the Indian launch of the device given that tablets aren't usually all that well received in India. But a low cost high value offering like this could certainly change that.
