ASUS Launches Android 5.0 Powered FonePad FE375CL

ASUS has just announced a new budget tablet with Android 5.0 on board. Known as the FonePad FE375CL, this offering won't go heavy on your wallets.

The tablet is only available in Taiwan at the moment, but we can expect the company to announce the device in global markets as well. The pricing of the tablet has been set at 7,990 New Taiwan Dollars, which is the Indian equivalent of Rs 15,600.

The tablet has a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and an Intel Atom Z3530 quad core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. With dimensions of 108.9 x 194.3 x 9.8mm, the new FonePad will be easy on your palms too. It weighs a measly 299 grams, which is pretty decent for a tablet.

Other specifications of the tablet include a 5MP camera, a 2MP portrait camera, 8 or 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM and 5GB of ASUS cloud storage for life.

The tablet can make phone calls as well, thanks to the built-in SIM card slot. It's LTE compatible, so you can have blazing fast internet at your fingertips regardless of where you are.

The highlight of this tablet however is that it's running Android 5.0 Lollipop by default, so you will get all the goodies from the latest version of Android.

The 3,950mAh battery on the device can reportedly eke out 12 hours of usage on a full charge, which is remarkable for a tablet.
