Microsoft Launches Lumia 435 With Dual-SIM Support In India
Not too long ago, Microsoft launched the Lumia 535 smartphone in India to take on the budget market segment. Today, the company has launched yet another budget handset in the country known as the Lumia 435. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 5,999, which is treading into the budget segment.
Coincidentally, this comes after Motorola slashed the pricing of the Moto E to Rs 5,999, so we should expect comparisons between the two smartphones over the coming days. Unfortunately, the hardware on the Lumia 435 isn't anything to write home about. In order to compete with the crowded budget segment, it is imperative that new smartphones deliver on hardware and we're afraid the new Lumia falls short on that.
The handset comes with a 4-inch 480x800 resolution display, a 5MP camera on the back and a 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 chip. The handset comes with 1GB of RAM and has 8GB of internal storage by default, which can be expanded with a microSD card slot. Rounding off the specs sheet is the 1,560 mAh battery and Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
The smartphone is unlikely to make a major impact on the budget segment here in India, thanks to the presence of the likes of the Lenovo A6000, the Moto E and several other handsets in the sub-7,000 range.
The Lumia 435 is available from Microsoft's online store, which is running in partnership with Indiatimes shopping. The company expects to have the smartphone on your doorsteps in four working days if you place an order right away. While we don't think it's the best budget smartphone available today, it can be a decent alternative to the barrage of Android handsets available in the similar price range.
