Sony Unveils Budget Ranged Xperia E4 Handset
Numerous reports over the past few weeks have suggested that Sony will keep a relatively low profile at the MWC event next month by only showing off midrange and budget handsets. And early yesterday, the company unveiled its first midrange handset of the year, known as the Xperia E4.
This is also the company's first handset to launch with Android 5.0 while Sony's flagship handsets such as the Xperia Z2 and the Z3 are still awaiting the update.
You can find the complete hardware specifications of the smartphone below:
· 5-inch qHD (960x540) resolution display
· 1.3 GHz quad core Mediatek MT6582 chip
· 5MP rear camera
· 2MP front camera
· 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB)
· 2,300 mAh battery (two-day battery life)
· Android 5.0 Lollipop
"With Xperia E4, we wanted to offer people some of the premium Sony features they have come to expect - with unparalleled ease of use - at a highly-competitive price point," said Tony McNulty, vice president, value category business management at Sony Mobile Communications.
"With a simple set-up, great screen and unrivalled 2 day battery life we've created an on-the-go entertainment device that will keep on going, wherever you are."
The two-day battery life on the Xperia E4 will be heavily endorsed by the company. The smartphone will be available in standard single SIM and dual SIM variants, catered specifically for the Asian markets. The device should be available sometime soon with no word on the pricing as of yet.
