Largest Apple iPad Pro launch delayed to year end

Largest Apple iPad Pro launch delayed to year end

Apple fanboys might feel disappointed to know that the company’s much-awaited, biggest ever iPad will not be coming anytime soon. The company has reportedly delayed the manufacturing for the 12.9-inch version of iPad, which has pushed the launch of the tablet to the end of the year. Bloomberg gathered from its sources that the production of long-rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro has been pushed to start around September.

The report mentions that it is due to the issues related to display panels supply chain, that the production of the tablet has got delayed to start around September. The Cupertino-based company had initially planned to start the manufacturing of the iPad Pro this quarter.

The sales of iPad have decline over four straight quarters. With this iPad, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook essentially wants to give an edge to the dipping sales of the iPad, as well as take on its competitor’s larger product line.

Though the company has not made any announcement around this 12.9-inch iPad, it is believed that the company will place this iPad variant somewhere between the iPads and the company’s MacBook product line in order to bridge the gap between the two lines. Rumors have it that the new iPad will feature an operating system that will have some features of OS X, and will be able to support multitasking as well. Earlier rumors suggested that the iPad Pro will support a stylus-pen.

The launch time of the product can yet not be specified, though it is likely that the 13-inch iPad Pro gets revealed at the company’s event in October.
