Microsoft launched its affordable Lumia 640 along with a bigger variant of the phone called the Lumia 640XL at the ongoing MWC 2015 in Barcelona. The phones are almost similar in terms of specifications, with only a few differences.
Display
Talking of the specs, the Lumia 640XL has a 5.7 inch HD IPS LCD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 259ppi. The display is topped with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Lumia 640 on the other hand sports a 5-inch display with 720p screen resolution.
Camera
On the camera front, the Lumia 640XL sports a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera, both of which support 1080p video. The Lumia 640, on the other hand, has an 8.7-megapixel rear camera with a 0.9-megapixel front-facing camera.
Processor and memory
As for other specs, these remain identical and include of 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage which is expandable using microSD card.

Software
On the software front, both the phones run on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim update, and are upgradable to Windows 10, as per Microsoft.
If that is not enough, Microsoft is also offering one year of free Office 365 subscription, which includes 1TB of free storage space on OneDrive as well as 60 minutes/per month of free Skype calling to landlines in over 60 countries and mobile phones in eight countries.
Connectivity
Connectivity options include of LTE support, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Price
As far as the pricing is concerned, the 3G variant of the Lumia 640XL will be available for 189 Euros that translates to Rs 13,071 approximately, while 3G variant of the Lumia 640 will retail at 139 Euros (Rs 9,600 approximately). The LTE variant of the phablet is priced at 219 Euros which is approximately Rs 15,120, and the LTE variant of the 640 will carry a price tag of 159 Euros (Rs 11,000 approximately).
